The College of Education at Texas Christian University will be prominently featured at the 2025 American Educational Research Association Annual Meeting, with 27 presentations led or co-led by TCU faculty and graduate students. The conference, held April 23–27 in Denver, Colorado, centers around the theme “Research, Remedy and Repair: Toward Just Education Renewal.”
More than 20 COE scholars will present on topics ranging from teacher preparation, bilingual education, artificial intelligence and student mental health at the world’s largest gathering of education researchers.
“Our faculty and students are pushing the boundaries of what it means to prepare educators, elevate learning and serve communities,” said Frank Hernandez, Ph.D., dean of the TCU College of Education. “Our presence at AERA reflects the rigor and relevance of our research addressing real-world challenges in Texas and beyond.”

Among the highlights is an AERA Presidential Session co-chaired by Audrey Sorrells, Ph.D., titled “Interrogating and Repairing IDEA’s Conceptions of Equity Since 1975.”
In this featured session national experts, including TCU’s Endia J. Lindo, Ph.D., will examine evolving approaches to special education policy and accountability. These presentations are selected through a peer review process and spotlight the most compelling scholarship in education research, policy and practice.
Sessions span emerging studies, funded research and community partnerships, reflecting the college’s growing research footprint and commitment to community engagement, innovation and relentless curiosity.
This marks another year of increased participation for TCU at AERA’s Annual Meeting —reinforcing the college’s leadership in advancing impactful education research and TCU’s Strategic Plan.
