Office of the Associate Dean of Research, Creative Activity, and Academic Affairs

Main Content

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

Since 2022, our College of Education Research Council has worked to strengthen this college's research enterprise, fostering external grant acquisition, interdisciplinary collaboration, and faculty mentorship in alignment with TCU's Strategic Plan Pillar II. As the inaugural Associate Dean for Research, Creative Activity, and Academic Affairs, I have the honor of building on that strong foundation, alongside the dedicated faculty of our Research Council, who remain central to this office's direction.

I began this role the way I try to begin most things worth doing: by listening. I met individually with our Dean, Research Council members, then surveyed our full faculty to understand the heart of our College's research culture to understand what's working, what's needed, and where we can grow together. Everything about this office is shaped by what I heard, and by how closely that vision aligns with both the College's and TCU's missions and strategic goals.

My work centers on a few commitments: championing the visibility of our faculty and students' scholarship; strengthening the infrastructure on funding, mentorship, and administrative support that lets great research flourish; and nurturing a truly collaborative research culture, with the Research Council as a partner in that work. This connects to something larger than our college alone. TCU's pursuit of Carnegie R1 classification depends directly on the research and doctoral scholarship happening right here, and I'm proud to help ensure this College's contributions are seen and celebrated.

Below, you'll meet the faculty who serve on our Research Council, and in the Research drop-down menu, you'll find some of the remarkable research happening throughout our college right now. Enjoy exploring!

With Horned Frog pride and warmest wishes,
Miriam Ezzani
