This April, TCU’s College of Education is bringing its research to education’s biggest stage at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meeting in Los Angeles.

Thirty-five sessions will feature TCU faculty and graduate students, each presenting their own research and weighing in on the meeting's theme, “Unforgetting Histories and Imagining Futures: Constructing a New Vision for Education Research.” More than 2,500 sessions will be held during the five-day conference, covering topics ranging from the politicization of education to the role of neuroscience in education.

“We have so much amazing research coming out of the College of Education,” said Frank Hernandez, Ph.D., dean of the TCU College of Education. “The size of the contingent we’re sending to AERA speaks to the quality and relevance of the research both our faculty and graduate students are producing.”

Highlights include a pre-conference workshop hosted by Endia Lindo, Ph.D on the intersection of race, disability, and language, a session co-chaired by Cathryn van Kessel, Ph.D on democratic education in the current social and political context and an educational leadership symposium chaired by Jo Beth Jimerson, Ph.D. Other TCU topics include the integration of technology into teaching, modern cultural considerations and literacy.
