The TCU Maestro Program will host its inaugural Corre TCU Maestro 5K on Dec. 7 at 8:30 a.m., inviting runners, walkers and community members of all ages to participate in a trek through the TCU campus and surrounding areas. Organizers hope to celebrate education, inspire future educators and bring the Fort Worth community together while raising awareness and support for the Maestro Program at TCU.

The Maestro Program is an initiative within TCU’s College of Education focused on recruiting, supporting, preparing and sustaining teachers of color. By fostering diversity in the teaching workforce, the program seeks to create a transformative impact on classrooms and communities across Texas and beyond--while addressing the growing certified teacher shortage in the U.S.

Program chair Steve Przymus, Ph.D., says, "The event provides a unique opportunity for youth, community members and future educators to see themselves at TCU and imagine a future in education.”

Proceeds from the event will help advance the Maestro Program’s mission and support its efforts to empower teachers of color.

Join TCU and the College of Education in celebrating community, education and the powerful impact of teachers. Together, we can inspire the next generation of educators and leaders.
