Graduates Recognized in Hooding and Pinning Ceremonies

20160506-L38C1653College of Education seniors, master’s and doctoral candidates participated in Pinning and Hooding Ceremonies on Friday, May 6. Students and their families celebrated years of hard work and dedication to classwork, research and field practice before attending Commencement May 7.

Undergraduate student speakers Dayna Martin and Katie Leota, master’s student speaker Tori Mooibroek and doctoral speaker Paige Zinsou, shared their very different experiences in the College of Education. However they noted similar themes of support from their families, friends, professors and the TCU community.

The pinning ceremony began as a new tradition in May 2015 to symbolize a milestone in educators’ lives. Undergraduate students received a special College of Education pin, welcoming them into the teaching profession. Graduate students received their academic hoods by the director of their program.
