Educator Preparation Program TCU students who plan to earn a teaching certificate must declare Education as their major and formally apply for admission to the Educator Preparation Program in the College of Education. To be eligible for admission, students must meet the following minimum requirements at the time they apply. However, meeting only the minimum criteria does not ensure admission to the program. Scripps Regional Spelling Bee 2020

This year’s competition includes 490 schools in North Texas and the students represent 25 different areas in North Texas. The students will compete to represent our region in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. Each year, all students graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education are invited to participate in a pinning ceremony, which takes the same week as graduation. At graduation, students receiving the master’s or doctorate degree wear an academic hood with their cap and gown. In addition to joining the TCU community in celebrating your achievement in the graduation ceremony, the College of Education has a special ceremony for you, your family, and friends called Academic Hooding.
