Davis Wins Leadership Award
Congratulations to Early Childhood Education junior Allison Davis, who won a TCU Pillar of University Leadership award for outstanding campus and community leadership. Davis was one of 15 students selected from 100 nominations. She was honored with fellow award winners at the Celebration of University Leadership banquet on Tuesday, Apr. 25.
“The Pillar of University Leadership Award recognizes students in every area of the University who have made an outstanding impact on the campus,” said Dede Williams, Director of the TCU Leadership Center. “Every student nominated is an extraordinary example of an ethical leader and responsible citizen.”
Freshman, sophomores and juniors, are eligible to be nominated by their peers, faculty, staff, and student organizations. Early Childhood Education Coordinator Dr. Michelle Bauml nominated Davis for the award, writing that “Allison has become a respected leader among students and faculty in the College of Education. She participates in all of these leadership roles while maintaining an exceptional GPA and working on additional projects as an Honors student.”
Davis was elected by her peers as one of two class representatives for her cohort, is a member of the College of Education D.R.I.V.E. leadership program, an elite team of emerging leaders nominated by faculty, and was invited by Dean Mary M. Patton to serve on the first College of Education Student Advisory Panel.
