Alumna a Featured Speaker at NYU Steinhardt Commencement
TCU alumna Chandler Patton Miranda will be the featured doctoral speaker at the 2019 NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development Commencement ceremony. Miranda is a doctoral candidate in the school’s educational leadership program and teaches Schooling in Diverse Communities at Queens College, City University of New York. She earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Smith College and a master’s degree in science education from TCU.
Miranda has taught high school science in the United States and Colombia and her research focuses on culture, engagement, leadership and educational opportunities for immigrant youth. She is working with a research team on a study of schools for immigrant students, funded by the William T. Grant Foundation. Read more about her research and work here.
