Bio

Steffen E. Palko, Ed.D., Associate Professor, was a successful leader in the business and energy sector prior to pursuing and fulfilling a life-long goal of completing a doctorate in educational leadership. Palko, who also served as a trustee for the Fort Worth ISD school board, has assumed numerous educational leadership roles at the state and national levels across the scope of his career, including chair of the National Assessment of Vocational Education for the United States Department of Education and Commissioner for the U.S Department of Labor SCANS committee. He was co-founder of XTO Energy Inc., which became the largest producer of natural gas in the United States in 2009 and was the company’s president from 1986-2005. He now regularly teaches courses in curriculum, instruction, and assessment; policy development and implementation; and the ethical and moral dimensions of leadership.
