Enugu Selected as NARST Scholar
The National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST) recognized alumna Ramya Enugu as a 2017 NARST Classroom Teachers and Informal Science Educators Scholar. NARST awarded the scholarship to nine currently practicing teachers/educators.
Assistant professor Hayat Hokayem mentored Enugu and nominated her for the award. “I cannot thank Dr. Hokayem enough for helping me develop my skills and interest in the field,” Enugu said.
Dr. Hokayem supervised Enugu’s master thesis, Challenges Pre-service Science Teachers Face When Implementing a 5E Inquiry Model of Instruction. Enugu and her fellow scholars collaborate with NARST members on their research projects and will present their thesis work at the annual conference April 22-25 in San Antonio.
Enugu graduated from TCU in spring 2016 with a Master’s in Science Education, and is currently working as a fourth grade teacher at a charter school called Great Hearts in Irving.
