Alumna Named Top Dallas Elementary Teacher

broussard-awardCongratulations to Briana Broussard, a TCU College of Education alumna who was named one of the top four elementary educators in the Dallas Independent School District. She was named a Teacher of the Year finalist for the district and Campus Teacher of the Year for Dallas ISD’s William Brown Miller Elementary School, where she teaches fourth grade math and science.

Broussard says she is thankful to receive this honor in her fifth year of teaching, and credits College of Education professors for helping her become the teacher she is today.

“What I love most about teaching is building relationships with my students and helping them achieve academic gains,” Broussard said.

Broussard earned her bachelor’s degree from TCU in 2010 in Early Childhood Education and stayed an extra year to earn her master’s in Elementary Education in 2011.
